crapshooting among the stars,
the supermodel impressed her peers
and public-at-large
when, suddenly,
out of runway
to strut upon,
she began
walking on air,
solidly,

a minor miracle
of resourcefulness,

for without a runway
to support all-she-was,
her steps
would have fallen
without an echo,
nor applause—
and then what?
